Takashi Miike to direct 1st JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Live-Action Film

TOHO and Warner Brothers announced at a press conference on Wednesday that both companies are collaborating for the first time to produce and distribute a live-action film adaptation of Hirohiko Araki’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable manga. Prolific filmmaker Takashi Miike  is directing the movie, which will open in Japan in summer 2017.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable is the fourth part of Araki’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga. The story is set in Morioh, located in S City in M Prefecture of Japan, and it follows the misadventures of Josuke Higashikata and his companions, as they are involved in a series of bizarre incidents in their town.

Takashi Miike has turned towards manga adaptations for good, with his next projects including the sequel to “The Mole Song” and “Blade of the Immortal” live-action films
